DC CORE

Reach private servers without exposing management ports.

Reach supported servers and devices through authorised Central connections. Keep management ports off the public internet while retaining control over who can reach each target.

Choose the access method for the task.

TaskAccess methodWhat the target needs
Work with a graphical sessionSupported Central remote desktop, or native RDP through an appropriate private pathA compatible desktop environment. Native RDP also requires a supported Windows host edition.
Administer a headless serverAn available agent terminal, or a private SSH service pathA compatible agent terminal, or a running SSH server with valid credentials.
Reach a management interfaceAn approved private service connectionThe intended service running and reachable from the approved local connection point.

These methods are distinct. A device supporting one does not imply it supports all of them. Check platform requirements before choosing your route.

Open, verify and close your session.

  1. Select the device: confirm the organisation, hostname and current connection state.
  2. Open the available tool: use your authorised account and authenticate to the target where required.
  3. Verify the target: check the hostname or service identity before carrying out the task.
  4. Finish: disconnect using the tool’s controls and confirm the session has ended.

For example, use a supported terminal to check a Linux server’s identity before investigating a service. If the task needs native SSH, configure that service and its authentication separately.

RDP without a public port-forward · Linux terminal and SSH access

A private route with explicit permissions.

Supported Central management paths start with outbound agent connections. Public inbound RDP or SSH openings are not normally necessary. Local service configuration, credentials, endpoint security and host firewall rules still apply.

Connection requirements are supplied through Central. Encryption boundaries depend on the chosen path: compare L0 and L1 and review the Trust Centre.

Start with a supported device.

Central starts at £10/month for five devices, excluding VAT, with normal interactive remote access included. See licence inclusions and connectivity exceptions.
